Woman dies after throat was Slit in busy Kent Shopping Centre Car Park
A young woman has died after allegedly having her throat slit in a broad daylight attack in a shopping centre car park. Horrified shoppers said they heard shouting and commotion while others described seeing lots of blood after the incident in 1 on Thursday morning. 1 cars descended on the Dockside Outlet Centre in Chatham at about 11am following reports a woman had been assaulted. The victim, believed to be aged in her 20s, died at the scene in after suffering “injuries consistent with a stabbing”, police said. One witness wrote on Facebook that the woman had her throat cut as she sat in her car. He said: “Just pulling into Dockside 1, 10 police cars race past with flashing lights, as I’ve locked the door I hear shouting and commotion. “The next bay opposite to me there’s a man covered in blood being restrained by officers.” A 25-year-old man from 1 was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody. Other witnesses said he “didn’t appear to resist arrest”. A Kent Police spokesman added: “The victim and suspect are believed to be known to each other. “Officers remain at the scene while they carry out enquiries. Members of the public are advised that much of the car park has been reopened. It is anticipated the remaining area will be 1 this evening.
