Man charged with Firearm and Drug offences following armed Police raid

Following a raid at a property in Freshwater on the Isle of Wight Police have charged a man with a number of offences. Officers raided a house in Freshwater, arresting a man on suspicion of possession of a firearm and drug offences on Thursday morning. The man was arrested following a tip off to police. Armed officers where sent to raided Hooke Hill, Freshwater. Crime scene investigators spent until the early hours of Thursday morning at the property Robert Stephen Hughes 29 from the Birmingham area has been charged with firearm offices and drugs possession within intent to supply. Hughes has been refused bailed has been remanded in custody and will appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on Friday
