Troubled Floating Bridge Reported to have crashed into Harbour Wall Suspending Service

The troubled Isle of Wight Floating Bridge has been pulled from service this morning after is It understood it may have hit a the wall on the East Cowes side of the River Medina. Passengers and Vehicles have been turned away and been told by staff manning the bridge that it is not in service No one is understood to have been injured as a result of the collision. A spokesperson for the Isle of Wight Council has said: “The Floating Bridge has been temporarily suspended, as it cannot berth at East Cowes without colliding with the GKN wall, due to a combination of wind and tide. “A passenger launch is likely to be in place until noon”. It is unknown if any damage has been caused.
