Remembering Hilda Denham: A Life Full of Energy and Kindness

“Our beloved mother Hilda Denham passed away on June 19, 2018. Her three children and four grandchildren are devastated. She will leave a great hole not only within her family but also within her community.

Hilda was a vivacious, vibrant, kind, generous, beautiful soul. She was an amazing force to contend with—full of life, energy, and light. Always the first to offer help, guidance, and support, whether to a friend or a stranger.

She was enormously loved by her grandchildren, connecting with them as a child would—painting, playing tag, football, always finding ways to have fun.

Alongside her husband John, Hilda was a passionate conservationist and philanthropist. They supported many charities at home and abroad, famously founding the Pacuare Turtle Reserve in Costa Rica.

The couple earned acclaim from National Geographic Travelers of the Year 2013 for their incredible environmental work.”

Hilda Denham’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and the wider community she touched with her kindness and passion.
