Man Hit with Bottle During Robbery in Portsmouth – Police Seek Witnesses

A 25-year-old man was attacked and robbed in broad daylight in Portsmouth, and police are hunting for witnesses. The violent incident happened between 1pm and 2pm on January 21 in Somers Road North.

White Mercedes and Moped Suspects Target Victim

The victim was by the grassy area near the basketball courts when a white Mercedes, possibly a 57-59 plate with a loud exhaust, pulled up. Two men jumped out. At the same time, a third suspect arrived on a moped.

The man was racially abused before the moped rider struck him on the head with a bottle, knocking him to the ground. The victim suffered a minor head injury.

Cash Stolen as Victim Lay Injured

While the victim was down, the three suspects searched him and stole cash before fleeing the scene.

Descriptions of the Three Suspects

  • Car driver: White male, brown hair in a comb-over, wearing a black Canada Goose body warmer.
  • Front seat passenger: White male, dressed in navy blue tracksuit top and bottoms.
  • Moped rider: Mixed heritage, chubby build, wearing a flip-face helmet.
