Cash machine raid at Asda in Tunbridge Wells

An investigation has been launched by detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate after a cash machine was stolen from a Tunbridge Wells supermarket. Kent Police received a report at 3.34am on Thursday 4 April 2019 that a digger had been driven into Asda in Longfield Road, causing damage to the building, and a cash machine was reported stolen. While carrying out enquiries at the scene, officers also received a report a burglary had taken place at the recycling centre in Longfield Road overnight and currently are treating the two incidents as linked. Detective Inspector James Derham said: ‘The cash machine burglary took place in a busy industrial area of the town and we are asking for witnesses who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously or saw a large vehicle leaving the north farm estate area around the time of the incident.’ Anyone who has any information or who has CCTV or dashcam footage that may assist the investigation is asked to call Kent Police on 01622 604100 quoting 04-121
