Digger Rams Supermarket in Bold Cash Machine Heist

Detectives from Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate are on the case after brazen thieves used a digger to smash into an Asda in Tunbridge Wells – then made off with the cash machine.

Kent Police were alerted at 3:34am on Thursday 4 April 2019 after the mechanical bulldozer tore into the Longfield Road store, causing significant damage and stealing the ATM.

Linked Burglary at Nearby Recycling Centre

While scoping out the scene, officers also received reports of a burglary overnight at the Longfield Road recycling centre. Police now believe the two break-ins are connected.

Detective Inspector James Derham said: “The cash machine burglary took place in a busy industrial area of the town and we are asking for witnesses who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously or saw a large vehicle leaving the North Farm estate area around the time of the incident.”

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Footage
