Manhunt after acid attack in Bethnal Green

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to an assault involving a corrosive substance in Bethnal Green. Police were called at approximately 1am on Wednesday, 3 April to Old Bethnal Green Road, E2 after two men and a woman were attacked. Officers attended and provided first aid. One man was taken to an east London hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injuries. A number of vehicles were also damaged following the assaults. Detective Constable Angus Handley, said: “This took place outside a block of flats and I’m sure a number of people would have heard and seen the disturbance. “I would urge anyone who has not yet spoken with police to come forward and speak with us. “Fortunately, none the victims sustained serious injuries but it is imperative that we gather as much information as possible.” Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at the Central East Command Unit via 101 quoting reference 315/03Apr.
