Haringey Manhunt: Police Hunting Serial Sex Attacker
Detectives are on the hunt for a dangerous sex attacker terrorising Haringey. They have released urgent mobile phone footage of a man linked to a string of vile assaults near Tottenham Green.
Three Shocking Attacks in Tottenham
The nightmare began on Wednesday 3 April around 7.50pm near Tottenham Green Pools and Fitness. A 25-year-old woman was walking by when a man tried to talk to her. She couldn’t hear him over her headphones. Suddenly, the suspect kicked her, swore, gestured aggressively, and fled towards the fitness centre.
Less than 15 hours later, on Thursday 4 April at about 10.15am, a 27-year-old woman was attacked on Philip Lane. The suspect snuck up behind her, sexually assaulted her, then punched her in the face before running off towards Tottenham High Road.
Minutes later, just after 10.20am, a 20-year-old woman was walking nearby. A man suddenly ran behind her before launching a brutal sexual assault. He punched her five times in the face and upper body. The victim escaped but was hurt and had to visit hospital. A passing motorist chased the attacker, filming him as he fled along Clyde Road, but he got away.
Suspect Description and Appeal
- Black male, slim-medium build
- Wearing a red baseball cap, blue jeans, white trainers
- Carrying a black leather rucksack and at least one sports racquet with a ‘Pro Baseline’ cover
Detective Inspector Paul Ridley said: “These assaults are sexually motivated with disturbing levels of violence. The offender is aggressive and targets women at random. All took place close to each other, some within minutes.”
He urged anyone who recognises the man or has been a victim – even if they didn’t report it – to come forward urgently.
