A murder investigation is underway after a man was found dead in his Lewisham flat on the evening of Wednesday, 16 May.

Disturbing Discovery on Torridon Road

Police were called to Torridon Road, London SE6, at around 7pm following concerns from residents about a man who hadn’t been seen for some time. Officers forced entry to the flat and discovered the body of a man inside.

While formal ID is still pending, police believe the victim is 54-year-old Barrington Davis, a local resident. His next of kin have been informed.

Post-Mortem Reveals Horrific Injuries

Initially thought to be non-suspicious, the case took a grim turn when suspicious injuries were found after the body was moved to the mortuary. A special post-mortem on Sunday, 19 May confirmed the cause of death as multiple stab wounds.

On 18 May, police arrested a 39-year-old man on suspicion of murder. He has been bailed pending further inquiries, due to return to the station in mid-June.
