Officers continue investigation into teeneage girl rape in Warlingham

Today, officers are continuing their investigation after a young teenage girl was raped in Warlingham on Saturday night (25 May). A cordon is expected to remain at the scene while scenes of crime officers gather evidence. Detective Sergeant Steve Muncaster, from Surrey Police’s Safeguarding Investigation Unit said: “As we continue our investigation today we’d like to thank members of the public for sharing the appeal so far, especially to those who have contacted us with information. This is being reviewed and enquiries prioritised. “We’re pleased to say that the man and woman who took the teenager home have come forward. “The victim has been through a horrendous ordeal and has not been able to provide us with a description of her attacker, however he’s not believed to be known to her. As such, no arrests have been made as of yet, but our enquiries to identify this man are ongoing. “Further to our original appeal for information, we’re particularly interested in hearing from drivers and taxi drivers who may have driven in the area at the relevant time and have dash cameras fitted. We’d urge anyone driving in the area last night to check their footage from between 10pm on Saturday and 12.30am on Sunday morning.” At this time, there is currently no suggestion that a vehicle was involved, however anyone with contradicting information is asked to come forward.
