Man dies in fatal A30 collision in Blackwater

Police are appealing for witnesses after car collided with a pedestrian on the A30 in the early hours of Saturday morning (June 15). Officers were called at approximately 2.42am to a report of a man seriously injured following a collision with a Ford C-Max on the A30 London Road, Blackwater close to The Royal Swan Public House. Sadly, the man, in his 50’s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The road was closed for investigation purposes until 7am. The man’s next of kin have been notified and investigations continue to establish the events leading up to the collision. The driver of the vehicle was not injured and is assisting police. No arrests have been made at this time. Officers are particularly keen to speak to any witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw the man in the area prior to the collision.
