Kent fire crews called to tackle industrial unit fire in Chatham Docks

Kent Fire and Rescue Service is dealing with approximately 500 tonnes of recycling waste alight in an industrial unit in Chatham Docks. At the height of the fire, five fire engines were on the scene. This has now been reduced to three. Crews are using main jets and water from a hydrant to extinguish the fire. Good progress is being made and crews are expected to be on site until this afternoon.
