Young Yusuf Mohamed Stabbed to Death in Shocking Shepherd’s Bush Attack
The 18-year-old boy fatally knifed in Shepherd’s Bush last night has been named as Yusuf Mohamed. Yusuf’s family had moved to London from war-torn Somalia hoping for a safer life — but tragedy struck instead.
Ambush Outside Local Shop
Yusuf was waiting outside Intercontinental Foods in west London at around 9.20pm when two men lying in wait attacked him. He was stabbed in the chest and collapsed inside the shop. Paramedics fought to save him but he was pronounced dead within minutes.
Yusuf’s Family Devastated
His father, Mr Ulusow, told the Standard: “I moved my son here 20 years ago for a better, safer life. But London is so dangerous now. Parents around here are losing kids every day.”
“He was studying and dreamed of being an engineer. A calm, polite boy — never in any trouble. We are heartbroken.”
“The police need to catch these killers before they strike again.”
Yusuf had three brothers and a sister, and was known for his sense of humour and love of football. “He supported his home team back where he was born,” said Mr Ulusow. “This is beyond belief.”
Eyewitnesses Describe Brutal Attack
Shop worker Muhomad Afzal, who’s worked there for 30 years, said: “Two men were waiting across the road like an ambush. Yusuf was unarmed and had his arms up, but one stabbed him in the chest.”
A witness added: “He was stabbed outside the shop, ran inside for cover, but the attacker followed. Yusuf tried to escape downstairs, but was stabbed again. They dragged him back upstairs while paramedics tried to save him.”
London’s Murder Toll Rises
Yusuf is the 61st murder victim in London this year and the 11th to die in a stabbing. His tragic death highlights the ongoing knife crime crisis gripping the capital.
The hunt for Yusuf’s killers is underway, as police urge anyone with information to come forward.
