Manhunt launched in Southampton after arrested man give police the slip at hospital

A manhunt has been launched and police are appealing to find a man who absconded from hospital in Southampton after being arrested. Peter Fox, 32, from Cornel Road, Southampton had earlier today, Saturday, June 29, been arrested for an aggravated burglary after being spotted by officers out looking for him in the Peartree Avenue area of Bitterne. Officers took him to be checked over at Southampton General Hospital after he complained of being ill. At around 2.40pm today he managed to absconded from the hospital. Detective Superintendent Darren Rawlings said: “Officers tried to stop him but he evaded them. The crime he has been arrested for is a serious one and we now need to find him so he can be questioned about it. “We’d also appeal to Peter directly to hand himself in as he is only making the situation worse for himself. I’d ask anyone who sees him or thinks they know where he to not approach him but to call us immediately on 999.” When he was last seen he was wearing dark green Adidas shorts with white stripes/writing, a lighter green t-shirt with round neck and grey Nike Air Max trainers. He is white with messy short brown/dark brown hair. He had a cannula in when he left the hospital and a hospital wrist band and grazes and cuts over his body including knees and elbows.
