A27 Snarled Up with Crash Chaos Between Arundel and Fontwell
The A27 is shut both ways from the A284 junction near Arundel to the A29 at Fontwell in Sussex. A nasty collision has caused the full closure, with Highways England and Sussex Police scrambling to clear the scene and get traffic moving again ASAP.
Follow The Signs: How to Dodge the A27 Roadblock
If you’re heading eastbound, keep your eyes peeled for the “Hollow Diamond Symbol”. Diverted traffic will exit at the Ford Road/Arundel Bypass roundabout. Then it’s north on the A284 towards the B2139/A29 junction.
From there, drivers take the A29 south-west to Fontwell East roundabout, rejoining the A27 and continuing their route.
Westbound Drivers: Take Note of the “Hollow Triangle Symbol”
Heading westbound? Follow the “Hollow Triangle Symbol” to exit the A27 at Fontwell East roundabout. Then take the A29 north-east to the B2139 roundabout.
From here, it’s the reverse path back onto the A27 at the Arundel bypass roundabout.
Authorities urge motorists to follow these diversion routes carefully to avoid further chaos while clearance work is underway.
