Man Charged with Murder of Woman in Beckenham

A 54-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a woman found dead in Beckenham. David Samuel McCorkell, from Beckenham Road, Penge, was arrested on Tuesday, 23 July.

He faces charges for the murder of 61-year-old Diane Dyer and possession of an offensive weapon. McCorkell is due to appear in custody at bromley/" title="Bromley" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 24 July.

Brutal Attack Leads to Woman’s Death

Diane Dyer was discovered unresponsive at her Oakwood Avenue home on 18 July. A post-mortem on 19 July confirmed she died from blunt force trauma to the head and face.

Police continue to investigate the shocking killing as the community reels from the tragedy.
