Teenager Hospitalised After Shocking ‘Acid Attack’ in South Norwood
A teenage boy was rushed to hospital after a corrosive substance was thrown at him during a fight in South Norwood.
Emergency Called to Fight on South Norwood High Street
Police and ambulance services were scrambled to South Norwood High Street, near the junction with Portland Road, at 4.30pm on Monday, October 7. Witnesses reported a violent altercation that left the boy seriously injured.
No Arrests Yet as Investigation Underway
The Met Police confirmed the boy was struck by what they described as a “corrosive substance.” He was immediately taken to a South London hospital by ambulance. Thankfully, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
A force spokesperson said, “His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.”
A police cordon remains in place on South Norwood High Street near The Jolly Sailor pub as detectives hunt for the attacker.
