Three hooded Yobs guilty of Walthamstow murder

Two men and a boy have been found guilty of murdering a 20-year-old shot in the chest as part of ongoing violence between rival gangs. Hamza Ul-Haq, 21  of Burden Way, Wanstead; Loic Nengese, 19  of Arkley Road, Walthamstow, and a 16-year-old boy from Hackney, all part of the same Walthamstow gang, were convicted on Monday, 2 December at the Old Bailey of killing Joseph Williams-Torres.

The court heard that Joseph was with a friend on the evening of Wednesday, 14 March 2018 in Essex Close, Walthamstow, listening to music in a van. At around 9.30PM  three hooded males appeared in front of the vehicle and began tugging at the passenger door. As Joseph struggled to pull it closed, one drew a gun and shot him before all three males ran off towards Pretoria Avenue. Joseph was hit in the chest and legs. He managed to stagger out of the van and local residents gave first aid until police, paramedics and London’s Air Ambulance arrived at the scene. However, the severity of Joseph’s injuries meant he died around an hour later.
