Three Gang Members Found Guilty of Deadly Walthamstow Shooting
Two men and a teenage boy have been convicted for the brutal murder of 20-year-old Joseph Williams-Torres. The trio, all linked to a Walthamstow gang, were found guilty at the Old Bailey on Monday, 2 December.
The Fatal Night in Walthamstow
Joseph, 20, was fatally shot in the chest on 14 March 2018 while chilling with a friend in a van on Essex Close, Walthamstow. At about 9.30pm, three hooded attackers approached and tried to open the van’s passenger door.
In the struggle, one of the men pulled a gun and fired, hitting Joseph in the chest and legs. The assailants then fled towards Pretoria Avenue.
Heroic Rescue Attempts End in Tragedy
Despite the severe wounds, Joseph staggered out of the van. Local residents rushed to give first aid before police, paramedics, and London’s Air Ambulance arrived. Sadly, Joseph died about an hour later due to his injuries.
