Five prison officers stabbed in terror attack
Counter-terror cops are probing a shocking assault inside one of Britain’s most secure jails. At HMP Whitemoor, five prison officers were injured when a convicted terrorist and a Muslim convert prisoner launched a stabbing attack.
Attackers armed with homemade weapons and fake suicide vests
The prisoners wielded a crude bladed weapon fashioned from a toothbrush and razor blades. Both were also wearing fake suicide vests, turning the tense situation into a potential catastrophe.
Prison staff praised for quick response
A Prison Service spokesman said: “The incident was quickly resolved by our brave staff and our thoughts are with the injured officers at this time.”
