A 32-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly coughing and spitting on Asda staff — while claiming he had Coronavirus.
Shocking Scene at Asda
The incident unfolded at around 6:10pm on Tuesday at Asda, Crossways Boulevard, Greenhithe. Witnesses say the man targeted store employees, coughing and spitting on them.
Racial Abuse and Anger
On top of the assault allegations, the suspect is also accused of racially aggravated public order offences. Witnesses reported he verbally abused staff while threatening them with the virus.
Police Step In
Officers arrested the man on suspicion of two assaults and racially aggravated public order offences. The investigation is ongoing.
