Teens in Trouble After Stolen VW Polo Crashes into Police Cars on M25
Stolen Car Sparks High-Speed Chase
Two suspected burglars, boys aged 16 and 17 from Greater London, have appeared in court after a stolen car crash involving two police vehicles.
At 5.03am on Saturday 18 April 2020, a VW Polo was reported stolen from Primrose Drive, Ditton, after its keys were nabbed during a burglary.
Just five minutes later, Kent Police spotted the Polo hurtling along the Londonbound M20 and gave chase onto the busy M25.
Collision with Police Ends Pursuit
The chase ended in Essex when the stolen Polo slammed into two police cars before screeching to a halt. Both teen drivers were quickly arrested at the scene.
Officers recovered a screwdriver, balaclava, gloves, car keys, and a small bag of cannabis from the pair.
Serious Charges for Teenage Duo
The 16-year-old and 17-year-old face multiple charges including burglary and aggravated vehicle taking. The younger boy is also charged with driving without a licence and insurance, while the elder faces possession of cannabis charges.
They appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 20 April and have been remanded to Medway Youth Court on 28 April.
