A man has been jailed for 12 years following a shooting in Wood Green last September.

Kenloy Clarke, 34 , of Birkbeck Road, N8, appeared at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, 8 July where he was sentenced for two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, one count of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and one count of possessing ammunition with intent to endanger life.

Police were called at around 9.50pm on Tuesday, 17 September 2019 to reports of a shooting on Lordship Lane near Wood Green High Road.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended, however all persons involved had left the scene before emergency services arrived.

A short time later, a 46-year-old-woman and a 31-year-old-man self-presented at hospital.

The woman had sustained a gunshot injury and although she has since been discharged from hospital, her condition was critical for some time. The medical report states that without the treatment administered by the medical professionals at North Middlesex Hospital and the Royal London Hospital, the patient would have died.

The 31-year-old man also suffered a gunshot injury; he has since made a full recovery.

Clarke was arrested three days after the attack, on Friday, 20 September 2019, and was charged with a series of offences in relation to the incident. He pleaded guilty at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, 20 May and was remanded in custody for sentencing.

Detective Constable Damon Carr from Trident at Specialist Crime North, said: “I hope that the victims in this can benefit from some closure in knowing that Clarke is behind bars.

“The firearm used in this incident remains outstanding – even though the legal proceedings have concluded, I am still very keen to know the whereabouts of the gun.

“Firearms have no place on our streets, within our communities or in the hands of dangerous people. We will, relentlessly, target those who threaten the safety of law abiding people living, working and raising families in London.”
