New Arrests in Kamal Nuur Murder Case

Detectives probing the murder of 18-year-old Kamal Nuur in Islington have made two fresh arrests as they step up the hunt for more clues.

Two More Nabbed Over Kamal’s Stabbing

On Saturday, 10 October, a 17-year-old lad voluntarily turned himself in at Kentish Town Police Station on suspicion of murder. He was later released on bail and must return in mid-November.

Then, on Wednesday, 14 October, police swooped on a 21-year-old man at a Peterborough address. He’s been arrested for assisting an offender in Kamal’s murder and for possession with intent to supply drugs. He’s currently held at a Cambridgeshire police station.

The Tragic Attack That Shook North London

Police were called to North Road, N7, around 8pm on Monday, 14 September after reports of a man with stab wounds. Paramedics tried to save Kamal at the scene but he was pronounced dead. A post-mortem on 17 September confirmed stab wounds were the cause.

Officers believe Kamal was chased and attacked in Goodinge Close, N7, by two men who then fled on bicycles towards York Way.

Earlier, on 6 October, a 20-year-old man and a 17-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of murder but released on bail pending further enquiries.

Police Plea for Witnesses

“Kamal’s death has shocked the local community,” said Detective Chief Inspector Andy Partridge. “His family are devastated and struggling to understand why he was targeted. We need anyone with information, especially about the two males seen fleeing on bicycles, to come forward.”

“There should be no hiding place for those who carry out such brutal violence. Any information can be given confidentially or anonymously via Crimestoppers.”
