Man Jailed After Ignoring Restraining Order and Vicious Attacks
Levy Smith, 31, from Eastling, was locked up at Maidstone Crown Court on 5 November 2020 after admitting criminal damage and a string of other offences.
Threats, Tyre Slashing & Assault
Smith broke a two-year restraining order in August 2020 by contacting his victim. He bombarded her with threatening texts and scary voice messages before slashing the tyres on her car. His violent spree didn’t stop there—on 15 August, he punched another woman known to him, leaving her with facial injuries.
High-Speed Police Chase Ends in Arrest
On 31 August, police on routine patrol spotted Smith driving a car with visible steering defects in Sittingbourne. When officers signalled him to stop, he sped off through Knightsfield Road and Vicarage Road before abandoning the vehicle and trying to flee on foot. He was quickly caught and arrested.
Police Condemn Smith’s Actions
“Smith completely ignored the restraining order which was in place and behaved in a manner to intentionally cause fear to his victim as well as assaulting another woman,” said PC Zoe Hallam.
“His behaviour is not acceptable, and I hope this outcome acts as a deterrent to others.”
