Cat Survives Brutal Air Gun Attack Before Christmas
On 11 December, Luna, a black and white cat, returned home with a shocking injury. An air gun pellet was lodged in her head.
Vets successfully removed the pellet without surgery. Luna is now recovering at home, lucky to be alive after this terrifying ordeal.
RSPCA Slams Heartless Shooter
RSPCA inspector Keith Hogben condemned the attack. He said, “This air gun attack is very concerning. Our thoughts go out to Luna and her owners who faced this heartbreaking incident just before Christmas.”
Keith added, “Air rifle attacks like this aren’t as rare as we’d hope. Cats and wildlife are vulnerable as they roam freely with no protection. These weapons cause horrific pain and often fatal injuries.”
Owner Speaks Out: “Sickening to Target a Pet”
Luna’s owner, Martyn Nash, expressed his shock. “It is sickening that someone could do that to a pet. Luckily Luna is doing well and seems okay now.
We just don’t want this to happen again or to any other animals.”
RSPCA Calls for Witnesses and Urges Vigilance
RSPCA Cymru is asking the Whitland community for any information on who shot Luna or how it happened. They urge cat owners to keep a close eye on their pets.

Under the Animal Welfare Act, using an air gun to harm an animal can land offenders up to six months in prison and/or a fine of £20,000.
