Dog Dragged 50 Metres by Hit-and-Run Van in Lambeth

A heartbreaking hit-and-run left a Staffordshire Bull Terrier severely injured on New Year’s Eve.

Van Hits Dog on Croxted Road

At around 11:15pm on Thursday, 31 December 2020, Angel, a nine-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier, was out on a lead with her owner on the north end of Croxted Road, Lambeth. Both were wearing hi-viz jackets when a van struck Angel and dragged her for about 50 metres along the road.

Serious Injuries and Driver Flees Scene

Angel suffered a serious head injury, needing surgery to have her left eye removed. The van driver failed to stop and sped off towards Norwood Road, leaving the injured dog and her owner behind.

Police Seek Witnesses and Footage

Police are urgently appealing for anyone who saw the collision or has dash-cam or CCTV footage of the incident or vehicle involved.
