Abbkr, from Edgbaston, Birmingham, is accused of spraying a harmful substance on two Muslim men in separate incidents. The victims are Hashi Odowa, 82, and Mohammed Rayaz, 70, both seriously affected by the attacks.
Victims Suffer Horrific Injuries and Trauma
- Mohammed Rayaz, a retired factory worker, is in hospital after a skin graft operation.
- His jacket was set ablaze near his Shenstone Road home, close to a local mosque he had just left.
- Rayaz’s son reportedly received a terrifying text message during the attack, with screams heard by the family.
“He heard his father screaming, and the family had gone out and seen him on fire,” said Shahbon Hussain, solicitor for Rayaz’s family. “I went over right away, and the police quickly responded.”
