Chandler’s Ford Woman Jailed for Brazen Robbery
Ruby June Ventham, 27, of Cox Row, Chandler’s Ford, pleaded guilty to robbery at Southampton Crown Court on Monday 1 February. The shocking incident took place on Saturday 28 November at a local Chandler’s Ford home.
Knocked, Pushed In and Made Off with Stolen Goods
Ventham reportedly knocked on the victim’s door asking for change for a £20 note. She didn’t stop there – she forced her way inside the property. While inside, she grabbed a bag from the lounge and got into a physical fight with the homeowner before fleeing with the stolen item.
Four Years Behind Bars for Crime Spree
Court heard how Ventham survived by committing crime until her arrest. She pleaded guilty and was sentenced to four years in prison on Monday 1 February.
Detective Constable Alison Humby, Hampshire Constabulary’s CID, said: “This is a fantastic result for the local community of Chandler’s Ford and for the victim severely affected by Ventham’s crime.”
“Thanks to our dedicated Investigation team and local policing support, the judge imposed a significant sentence. We hope this long-term intervention helps Ruby get the support she needs to end her criminal activities and break away from those exploiting her.”
“Burglary is a deeply intrusive crime. This sentence sends a clear message across Hampshire: burglars like Ventham will face justice.”
