Violent Night in Maidstone: Nine Officers Assaulted in Jubilee Square Chaos
Just after 11pm on Sunday, July 11, trouble erupted in Maidstone’s Jubilee Square. Patrols rushed to reports of a car being vandalised — but things quickly escalated.
Nine police officers were assaulted during the unrest. Five needed nurse treatment at Maidstone police station, though thankfully, no serious injuries were reported.
Police Release Images of 12 Suspects
Detectives are now appealing for help, releasing images of 12 men they believe might be connected to the violence. They want the public to come forward with any information.
Deputy Area Commander, Superintendent Jon Kirby, said: “While most people in Maidstone town centre behaved responsibly throughout the evening, a minority chose to act in a violent manner and some of my officers were injured.”
“We are reviewing CCTV and other footage of the incidents and I am urging anyone with information to contact us at their earliest opportunity.”
