Traffic Nightmare as Prestons Road Shut Both Ways
The crash forced Prestons Road to close in both directions, causing massive queues at the Blackwall Tunnel. Drivers endured lengthy delays as emergency services scrambled to the scene.
Hit-and-Run Investigation Launched After Driver Flees
The owner of the Lamborghini, Andrew, is said to be “gutted” by the incident. A friend revealed the airbags had deployed and the car was tracked fleeing the scene. Police confirmed the driver vanished after the smash, prompting a hit-and-run probe.
“We’ll use DNA from the airbag to nail who was behind the wheel at the time of the crash,” a Met Police spokesperson confirmed.
Uber Driver Rammed While Passenger Injured
An Uber driver told police the Lamborghini was racing a black Mercedes when it slammed into his car. Firefighters had to free his passenger, who suffered neck and arm injuries. She was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital. The Uber driver escaped with minor injuries.
The Met Roads Police unit continues investigating. Commuters can expect delays across nearby roads for hours.
