Toddler Seriously Injured in Lambeth E-Scooter Crash
A young girl was left fighting for her life after a collision with an e-scooter in Myatt’s Field Park, Lambeth, on Monday night.
Collision Shocks Park Visitors
The incident happened around 8.30pm on 19 July. The toddler was with her family in the park when she was struck. Relatives rushed her to a south London hospital, where her condition worsened overnight.
Police confirmed the girl is now in stable condition but facing life-changing injuries. Specialist officers are supporting her family during this distressing time.
Driver Apologised but Disappeared
Officers believe the e-scooter rider, described as a young male, was with a group that included another e-scooter and a cyclist. He reportedly stopped after the crash to apologise to the toddler’s mum before leaving the scene.
Detective Inspector Lucie Card from the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command urged him to come forward. She said:
“A little girl has been left in a serious condition after this collision and her family are, of course, very distressed.
We have reason to believe that the e-scooter’s rider stopped after the collision and apologised to the little girl’s mother. It may be that they haven’t realised the severity of the girl’s injuries and thought she was ok.
I am asking this person to please come forward and speak to us because we do need to understand what happened. I know it might feel a little overwhelming, but please do the right thing and call us or go to your nearest police station.
We are also keen to hear from anyone in Myatt’s Field Park around 8.30pm last night. Please get in touch if you witnessed what happened or have information about the circumstances.”
