The parents of four children who died in a devastating Staffordshire house fire remain in police custody. Natalie Unitt, 24, and her partner Chris Moulton, 28, are being grilled by detectives after their release from hospital. Both have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter by gross negligence.

Staffordshire Police confirmed the couple are still in custody and are being questioned today (Saturday 9 February).

The pair were arrested yesterday following the tragic blaze on 5 February at a home on Sycamore Lane, Highfields, Stafford. Four children lost their lives in the fire, sparking a joint investigation between police and fire service experts.

Probe focuses on gas supply

The ongoing investigation relates to the property’s gas supply, which is being closely examined by officers and fire investigators. Police thanked the local community for their patience and support as inquiries continue.
