Brutal Head Stomping Attack in Town Centre Park

The horror began on the evening of May 30, 2021, on Week Street. The victim confronted Braiek over offensive comments about a woman’s clothing. Tempers flared quickly, sparking a violent chase into Brenchley Gardens.

There, Braiek tackled the man, punched him, and put him in a chokehold. When the victim lost consciousness, Braiek showed no mercy, stamping on his head multiple times as horrified onlookers shouted for help.
Braiek then fled. The victim, in his 30s, was rushed to a London hospital with severe brain bleeds. He was placed in an induced coma and suffered life-changing injuries.

Eight Years Behind Bars for Relentless Violence
Braiek, 34, faced Maidstone Crown Court charged with attempted murder. Though found not guilty of that charge, he admitted grievous bodily harm with intent and two counts of battery.
On June 6, 2022, he was sentenced to eight years and three months in prison. He must serve at least two-thirds before being eligible for parole.
Hamdi Braiek caused terrible, life-changing injuries to his victim, who is no longer able to work and requires constant care,” said Detective Sergeant Jamie Webb of West Kent CID. “Our investigation uncovered several other violent attacks by Braiek in Maidstone. He has shown little remorse and even blamed others for his brutal actions. At least today’s sentence ensures he no longer threatens our communities.”
