Chef Pleads Guilty to Brutal Murder of Teen in Uckfield Woods
A 20-year-old chef has confessed to stabbing an 18-year-old to death in woodland near Uckfield. Lewis Ashdown admitted murdering Marc Williams in the early hours of May 30, 2021.
Fatal Night in Fairwarp
The pair, who were known associates, met up the night before in Fairwarp. Hours later, police discovered Marc’s body in a wooded area, suffering multiple stab wounds.
Weapon Possession and Murder Charges
Ashdown, from Normansland, Uckfield, pleaded guilty not only to murder but also possession of an offensive weapon. He has been remanded in custody and faces sentencing on September 24.
Cops Condemn “Horrendous and Unprovoked” Attack
“This was a horrendous and unprovoked attack on a young man who thought he was simply out enjoying an evening with a friend,” said Detective Chief Inspector Emma Vickers.
“Lewis Ashdown took advantage of Marc’s trust and friendship, and killed him in a sustained and violent assault. Our thoughts are very much with the family and friends of Marc at this incredibly distressing time.”
