Two Women Nabbed for £2k Boots Cosmetic Heist in Maidstone
Maidstone cops on foot patrol snagged a pair of suspected shoplifters after catching a Boots security alarm blaring.
Alarm Goes Off, Suspects Spotted
On Tuesday 14 February, officers from the Maidstone Town Centre Task Force were strolling down King Street when the Boots chemist’s security alarm sounded. At the same moment, a woman stepped out of the store. Officers stopped her and found a haul of suspected stolen cosmetics.
Second Suspect Caught Trying to Flee
One of the officers then entered Boots, where staff pointed out another woman heading towards the exit. She was detained and more pilfered goods were seized.
Charged with Conspiracy to Steal Nearly £2,000 Worth of Cosmetics
- Beth Ross, 36, from Maran Way, Erith, and Sarah Humber, 39, from Edward Street, New Cross, London, were charged with conspiring to steal £1,945 worth of beauty products.
- Both were released on conditional bail and are due in Medway Magistrates’ Court on 14 April.
