Bicycle Smashes Windscreen on M9 – Hunt On for Rogue Vehicle
A bizarre smash-up unfolded on the M9 northbound in West Lothian around 5.50pm on Friday, 3 September. A light blue and white bicycle hurtled off a vehicle on the opposite carriageway and slammed into the windscreen of a white Ford Focus.
Woman Injured but Lucky to Escape Worse
The 60-year-old female driver managed to pull over safely onto the hard shoulder. She was rushed to St John’s Hospital in Livingston with minor injuries, but thanks to pure luck, the crash wasn’t far more serious.
Police Urge Witnesses to Step Forward
Police are now hunting the mystery vehicle that lost the bike, described as a Kona Kula 2-9 with a 16-inch frame. Sgt Jennifer Forbes from Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit warned:
“The consequences could have been far more severe. This should be a stark reminder to secure your loads properly.”
