Ali Cessay Nabbed at Heathrow
Ali Cessay, 28, with no fixed address, was arrested by detectives at Heathrow Airport on Wednesday, 27 October. The day after, he was hit with charges including murder, two counts of attempted murder, and possession of a prohibited weapon.
Sharmake Mohamud Murder Case
Cessay appeared in custody at Uxbridge Magistrates Court on Thursday, 28 October. He was remanded ahead of a crucial Old Bailey hearing set for 1 November. The charges stem from the shooting murder of 22-year-old Sharmake Mohamud at 1 Lanes, N8, on Tuesday, 21 September.
Other Victims and Arrests
- Two other men, aged in their 20s and 30s, were injured by gunshots during the incident. Both received hospital treatment and have since been discharged.
- Four men in their early 20s were initially arrested on suspicion of murder on 1 and 22 September.
- All four men have now been released with no further action.
