Pub Pervert Caught Drugging Man’s Drink in Ealing

Eamon Kelly, 58, of Bramber Court, Ealing, was jailed for two years and four months at Harrow Crown Court on Tuesday, 30 November. He’s also slapped with a 10-year stint on the Sex Offenders Register.

Spiking Attempt Caught on CCTV

Kelly pleaded guilty at Willesden Magistrates’ Court back in August for slipping drugs into a man’s drink with intent to stupefy and sexually exploit.

On 29 August, Kelly was seen alone at a pub on The Broadway, Ealing. The victim, a man in his 30s, sat nearby, also drinking solo. The victim told police Kelly kept giving him an odd smile all night.

When the man finished his drink, he spotted two tablets at the bottom—one whole, one mostly dissolved. He confronted Kelly twice, but the creep just smirked silently. Pub staff noticed and asked the victim to leave, unaware what had happened.

After the victim explained, staff checked CCTV and caught Kelly pulling something from his jacket pocket and dropping it into the man’s glass.

Quick Action Saves the Day

Police were called and arrested Kelly. They found a vial of crushed tablets in his pocket during a search. Luckily, the victim didn’t need hospital treatment.

In his police interview, Kelly admitted he’d crushed pills years ago and found them the day before. The tablets? One Viagra and one sleeping pill. He said he was “curious” to see what would happen if he spiked someone’s drink.

Investigating Officer Issues Stark Warning

“Kelly went to that pub with the clear intention of drugging someone to sexually assault them. Thankfully the victim stayed alert and caught it early, helping staff and police to act fast,” said Detective Constable Benazir Bhati.

“We take spiking very seriously and won’t hesitate to nail offenders. If you see anything suspicious or think you’ve been spiked, tell bar staff or the police immediately.

“Remember, putting anything into someone’s drink without their knowledge is a criminal offence.”
