Stolen Car Crashes into Lamp Post in Herne Bay – Driver Flees Scene
Kent Police are hunting witnesses after a black Vauxhall Astra was stolen and later smashed into a lamp post in Herne Bay.
Vehicle Stolen in Peartree Road
On the evening of Monday 6 December 2021, the black Vauxhall Astra was taken from outside a property on Peartree Road, Herne Bay.
Collision on Margate Road – Driver on the Run
At around 8.30pm, officers were called to Margate Road where the stolen car had crashed into a lamp post. The driver vanished before police arrived.
Police Constable David McIntyre said: “We have spoken to witnesses who confirmed the driver was not seriously injured but left before police got there. We’re working to identify the driver and want to hear from anyone who saw or spoke to them after the crash, or anyone with dash cam footage.”
