Predator Targets Young Girls in SE28 – Police Hunt Suspect
Four separate attacks on teenage girls have shocked the SE28 area. The victims, aged 13 to 17, were sexually assaulted after being approached by a man. Police fear the incidents are linked and are desperate to catch the suspect.
Series of Attacks on Teens in SE28
- 16 Dec: A 13-year-old girl gets off bus 229 near Crossway and Hoverton Road. A man follows her, sexually assaults her, then flees after she screams.
- 12 Jan: A 16-year-old walking down Poplar Place is asked for directions. The man pushes her against a fence, assaults her, but she escapes after screaming.
- 13 Jan: A 17-year-old leaves bus 422 at Artillery Place. The man follows her into a nearby property, grabs her leg causing her to fall, then assaults her before fleeing.
- 18 Jan: Another 16-year-old on Kentlea Road is asked for directions. The man then assaults her as she tries to walk away, but she manages to get free.
Police Appeal for Information
Detective Sergeant James Robinson said: “We know these incidents will cause concern within the community. We are doing all we can to identify the person responsible.”
He added: “If you recognise the man in the image or have any information, no matter how small, please contact us immediately.”
