Tragic Stabbing in Richmond Claims Life of Mirko
Police were called to Maguire Drive, Richmond, at around 11.20pm on Thursday, 17 March following reports of a stabbing. Although no victims were found at the scene, three men—one named Mirko—arrived at hospital soon after with stab wounds. Despite frantic medical efforts, Mirko sadly died in hospital.
One Arrested for Murder, Others Questioned
A post-mortem at Kingston Mortuary confirmed Mirko died from a stab injury. On Monday, 21 March, an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody. Four others—two women (17 and 52) and two men (19 and 20)—were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender but have since been released on bail.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
“We have made significant progress with our investigation but we believe there are other witnesses who have yet to speak to us,” said Detective Chief Inspector Geoff Grogan, leading the inquiry. “I urge anyone with information, no matter how small, to contact us as soon as possible.”
“Mirko’s family are understandably heartbroken. We are using all resources to provide them with answers.”
