Tragic Death of Beloved Biker Jack Crossley Near Brighton

The partner of motorcycle enthusiast Jack Crossley has spoken out about the devastating loss following his fatal crash on Saddlescombe Road near Brighton.

Jack, 43, from Hove, was pronounced dead at the scene after the collision just before 4pm on April 23.

Heartfelt Tribute from Grieving Partner

Jack’s partner paid a moving tribute, saying his death “has left a huge hole in the lives of everyone who knew him.”

“Jack always told you what he thought and could come across as a bit abrupt, with a very dry sense of humour. But if you took the time to get past that, you’d have a friend for life. He was generous with his time and help,” she said.

“He loved custom bikes, pick-up trucks and hot rods. Engineering, fabricating, welding and solving mechanical problems were his passions. He took pride in doing a good job.”

“Jack had just taken the plunge to start his own business. We were planning motorcycle trips abroad this year. He was an excellent rider who often took the lead.”

Last Ride and Fond Memories

His partner described their final ride together that day with a friend, all in high spirits.

“Saturday, 23 April was a beautiful sunny day. The three of us took our bikes to a meet, stopped for coffee and cake on the way back. Jack was in a great mood, had a huge slice of Victoria sponge, and a big smile.”

“Music was a huge part of his life, often blasting his favourite songs on repeat, especially with a bourbon or Paloma in hand.”

“We both loved black bears and supported bear rehabilitation centres in America. He was also smitten with our old cat, Millicent.”

“I’m struggling to find words for the pain and loss. There’s a huge gap in my life, his parents’, and our circle of friends.”

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Police are investigating the collision. Jack was riding a black classic 1950s-style Harley Davidson during the crash.

Officers urge anyone with information or footage to come forward. Contact Sussex Police on 101 or email [email protected] quoting Operation Cobham.
