John Lydon Drops F-Bomb Live on ITV’s This Morning
Sex Pistols legend John Lydon shocked viewers this morning by swearing live on ITV’s This Morning. Known for his no-holds-barred attitude, the 66-year-old rocker didn’t hold back during an interview with hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.
Rock Star Rips Into Sex Pistols Biopic
Lydon was on the sofa to talk about the new Sex Pistols biopic series, Pistol, which he clearly despises. Danny Boyle, the show’s director, admitted,
“I love Lydon for what he does and I don’t want him to like it.”
But just minutes into the chat, Lydon leaned in and muttered, “You ar**hole.” The camera caught the stunned expressions of Alison and Dermot, with Alison apologising quickly: “Sorry about that.”
Fans Brush Off Live Swear
Social media wasn’t fazed. One Twitter user @Josneat said, “Johnny was always going to swear! I believe he’s been quite restrained!” Another, @Bluebazza58, added, “Felt edgy watching John Lydon on This Morning — waiting for the expletive. Thankfully only ‘a**hole’ was said. Can’t see the biopic working without his blessing. He’s one of a kind.”
@Underwulde123 joked, “John Lydon on This Morning at 11.15am talking about Disney’s Sex Pistols biopic with fruity language for morning telly.”
Lydon: Biopic “Too Sleazy” and Full of “Dubious” Sexual Content
John didn’t hold back in previous interviews, telling The Mirror the show was “too sleazy,” complaining it focused on “sexual connotations that are dubious at best.”
He slammed the series for choosing “the wrong end of the spectrum” and called being cut out of the project “a shockingly stupid move.”
“They can all go f*** themselves. Except for me, none of these f***s would have a job.”
Boyle hit back, saying,
“John complains we didn’t approach him. We did approach him, and I’d have loved to have him involved.”
