After A Police Car Was Damaged, Police Are Appealing To The Public For Assistance In Identifying This Suspect

On Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at approximately 12:20pm, a stolen Ford Transit was observed acting suspiciously on Park Road in Oldham while wearing false plates.

The vehicle was then pursued by the Transport Unit down Wellington Street, where a police car sustained significant damage after being rammed and has been off the road since last month.

Following extensive investigations, officers are now in a position to appeal to the public for assistance in identifying a man, pictured, with whom they would like to speak in relation to the incident.

It’s critical we find out who caused the damage to what is an important vehicle in the fleet to help fight crime on our roads,” said GMP Transport Unit Sergeant Michael Mooney.

Fortunately, no officers were injured at the time, but this does not diminish the gravity of the incident or the importance of the public’s assistance in our investigation.”

Anyone with information should contact police as soon as possible at 101, quoting incident 51 of 28/06/2022, or call 0161 856 1855 or email [email protected].

Details can also be submitted via the LiveChat function at www.gmp.police.uk or by calling the independent charity Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
