Woman Stabbed in Chilling Morning Attack on Central Parade

Just before 8 a.m. on Monday, September 5, Kent Police rushed to a property on Central Parade after reports of a woman injured in a stabbing.

Emergency crews from the South East Coast Ambulance Service quickly attended the scene and took the victim to hospital with stab wounds. The attack has left the community shocked and searching for answers.

Suspect Arrested and Facing Multiple Charges

Police have arrested 34-year-old Ian McQuaide from Forrester Close, Canterbury. He is known to the victim and now faces serious charges including:

  • Attempted murder
  • Coercive or controlling behaviour
  • Assault
  • Making death threats
  • Causing grievous bodily harm

McQuaide appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on September 7 and was remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on October 5.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Key Vehicle Sightings

Officers want to hear from anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area between 6:50 a.m. and 7:15 a.m. on Monday, September 5. They are especially keen to identify drivers of three dark-coloured cars spotted near the scene:

  • Peugeot 206
  • Vauxhall Corsa
  • Ford Focus

These vehicles were reportedly seen around Central Parade, Market Street, and the nearby Market Street Car Park at the time of the incident.
