Tragedy as Woman Dies in Plaistow Flat Fire

A woman has sadly died after a fire broke out in a flat above a shop on Greengate Street, Plaistow, in the early hours of September 29.

Rapid Rescue Amid Blaze

The fire damaged part of a four-room flat on the building’s first floor. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus bravely rescued the woman through an internal staircase. She was rushed to hospital but later passed away.

  • Fire brigade received the call at 1.35am
  • Fire under control by 2.19am
  • Three fire engines and about 15 firefighters from Plaistow, East Ham, and Stratford stations attended

Cause Under Investigation

The London Fire Brigade and Metropolitan Police are probing the cause of the blaze. No further details have been released.
