Last Known Movements of Missing Boy Damien Caught on CCTV
Damien was last spotted on CCTV in Cowes High Street, leaving a chip shop around 11:40pm. He then walked towards the Co-op near a bus stop, where several people reportedly saw and spoke to him.
After leaving the bus stop, Damien was captured on camera again, walking back along High Street past the pontoon entrance. The final sighting was at 12:02am under a camera opposite an Indian restaurant, just before Sun Hill. After that, Damien vanished from all CCTV footage.
Family Launch Frantic Search After Strange Disappearance
Reported missing the following afternoon, Damien’s disappearance was so out of character that his family immediately began their own search. Over the years, police and private investigations, TV documentaries, and family campaigns have all sought answers — but none yet found.
Family Slams Police Failings in Early Investigation
Damien’s mother, Mrs. Nettles, has repeatedly criticised Hampshire Constabulary’s initial response. Complaints include:
- Ignoring early calls for land and air searches
- Loss of crucial CCTV footage
- Registering Damien as an adult, not a child
These missteps have cast a long shadow over the investigation.
BBC Three Documentary Shines Spotlight on Case
