Cocaine Stash Hidden in Deodorant Lands Driver Behind Bars
A clever smuggler’s plan went up in smoke after police found a stash of cocaine hidden inside a roll-on deodorant. The culprit, 30-year-old Sokol Bajraktaritari, was caught red-handed and sentenced to prison.
Traffic Stop Turns Up Class A Drugs
On December 14, Bajraktaritari was pulled over by officers in an unmarked car while driving his Citroen C4 on Elizabeth Way, Cambridge. A search of the vehicle uncovered cocaine concealed in a deodorant container, along with four small packets of the class A drug.
- The four small packets were valued at around £160.
- The larger quantity hidden in the deodorant was worth significantly more.
Multiple Offences Lead to Jail
Bajraktaritari, who has no fixed address, was also found to be driving without a valid licence or insurance. He admitted to possession with intent to supply cocaine as well as the driving offences. On January 15, he was sentenced to two years and seven months in jail at Peterborough Crown Court.
Police Crack Down on Drug Dealers
“Bajraktaritari thought he could avoid justice by hiding this stash of cocaine inside a deodorant, but he was wrong,” said PC Ollie Hagen.
“Day in, day out we witness the devastating impact drugs have on people’s lives and the wider community. It’s vital we target dealers and bring them before the courts.”
